Taking on too much at once...

moving...
finishing college...
putting the baby on  schedule...

It may sound easy but it's not. We're working through it though... the baby is on a pretty good daytime schedule and my homework is done for the week  but this moving thing is not going as fast as it should, lol. Everything goes slower than we want it to and once it's finally over we wish we were back at the beginning again.

We'lll see how it goes from here... :)

Day 3 training step one

Well.... We started training over on Friday because we had some mess-ups on Wednesday and Thursday. We talked to our doctor's office and they suggested a 3hr feeding schedule over 4 hrs so hopefully that works ok with the plan. So that means that Jacob eats at 7 am, 10 am, 1pm, 4pm, and 7pm. Which is better than what used to be 5am, 7am, 9am, etc... He still eats 2 times during the night but eliminating those feedings is step two. We dont move onto step two until we've mastered step one. I know it takes at least three days but Jacob is still eating funny so it may take seven. I've decided to supplement so I know that he is eating well. I've realized that he was eating well which is why it was every 1 1/2 to 2 hrs feeding before. My milk just isnt coming in in large amounts so he isnt getting 4-5 oz feedings in like he should. Today should be the white day of the dark, grey, white habit cycle but we'll see... he woke up screaming when the alarm went off this morning...

Sleep training day one

So I'm using the book 12 hours' sleep by 12 weeks to try and train Jacob to sleep at night. Today is day one of step one: getting Jacob to eat every 4 hours... It's going well and bad...

Here's why: I fed him at 10:30 not 11AM so he's off schedule by 30mins but I'm trying to wait the 4 hours between feedings but he's fussy and sleepy.

Update: Well we made it to 2:20pm before i fed him again. It's 6:06pm now and we're waiting out the next ten minutes but another part of this is to keep him awake between the last feeding and this one...he keeps trying to fall asleep...uh oh.

Hello, World!

So 8 weeks ago tomorrow my world completely changed. After a long wait and some serious pain we welcomed Jacob Ammon into the world. 20 in 7lbs 8 3/4 oz. When I saw him, I loved him instantly even though my first view was a flushed wax covered back and butt. My words were, "Wow, oh... wow." I made this blog to talk about the everyday things that have changed so much but I would never change about our life with Jacob.
